Kuala Lumpur (25 June 2010) – Two award winners met each other at Edaran Tan Chong Motor’s (ETCM) Jalan Raja Laut Nissan showroom recently where the ABPBH 2009’s “Most Popular Artiste”, Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin received a brand new Nissan X-Trail SUV from NST/Maybank’s “Automotive Man of The Year 2009”, Dato’ Dr Ang Bon Beng, the Executive Director of ETCM.
ETCM is the proud sponsor of Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian (ABPBH) for the second year since ABPBH 2008. For ABPBH 2009, two brand new Nissan vehicles were given away as Grand Prizes:
· A Nissan X-Trail 2.0L Auto worth RM130,000 for the winner of the Most Popular Artiste Category, which was won by Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza.
· A Nissan Grand Livina 1.6L Auto worth RM86,000 for the winner of the Readers’ Category, which was won by Ms. Norashikin
Samsudin.
Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza has won ABPBH’s “Most Popular Artiste” seven times, with five consecutive wins from 1996 till 2001, 2004 & 2009, and ABPBH’s “Most Popular Female Singer” thirteen times in a row. For ABPBH 2009, she garnered 225,300 votes to take home this prestigious annual Malaysian entertainment award’s top prize.
Established in 1987, ABPBH is an annual event organized by Berita Harian with the co-operation of Persatuan Akademi Industri Muzik Malaysia (PAIMM) to bestow awards to the most popular Malaysian singers, actors and celebrities who are involved in the Malaysian entertainment industry based on popular votes by readers of Berita Harian and Berita Minggu.
